MANDALATE

Triploid hybrid obtained from the cross of the “Fortune” mandarin (2x) x “Avana” mandarin (4x), created and patented by researchers at Cra-Isagru d’Acireale (Ct) Giuseppe Reforgiato Recupero, Giuseppe Russo and Santo Recupero. Oblate fruit, average weight of approximately 100 g, thin, fine-grained skin, orange in colour and poorly adherent to the pulp. Ripening period: late, harvesting begins at the end of February and continues until April. The fruits hold up well on the plants and do not tend to dry out.
