The white mulberry, scientifically known as Morus Alba, is an ancient tree, famous for its wood, used to make barrels for aging wine. The white mulberry can reach a height of 30 meters, and bears fruit during the summer months, particularly in June and July. The plant is self-fertile, meaning it can produce fruit on its own. The white mulberry's fruiting season runs from June to September, with the formation of the typical blackberry, a fruit composed of individual flowers that ripen into individual berries, which together form the actual blackberry we consume. The white mulberry is a tree that can adapt to a variety of soil types, from clayey to limestone-rich, to arid, sandy, and nutrient-poor soils. It tolerates low temperatures well, although it prefers ventilated, open areas. In the summer season, however, it is a good idea to water it adequately, in order to increase its resistance to the torrid climate, which is already high.
