LECCINO

Leccino is the most widespread cultivar in the world, combining excellent productivity and oil yield with exceptional grace. It has good cold resistance. The fruit is also suitable for direct consumption. The plant is of unparalleled beauty. TREE: Vigorous with an open, erect growth habit. The crown is broad and spreading, with many pendulous branches, arched at the apex. Medium-sized, elliptical-lanceolate leaves are green/grey in colour. FRUIT: Medium size (2-2.5 g), ellipsoidal, slightly asymmetrical, with a rounded apex and a flattened base. A very widespread oil cultivar with early, simultaneous fruit ripening. Olives are black-purple at harvest, with an oil yield varying between 17-22%. Good oil, not very fruity. AGRONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS: Self-incompatible variety with good and consistent fruiting. Pollinators: Moraiolo, Pendolino, Maurino, Frantoio, Morchiaio, Maremmano. Resistant to low temperatures, temperature changes, wind, fog, scab, decay, and cycloconium.
