PENDOLINO

Native to the Florence area, it is cultivated throughout the olive-growing areas of Tuscany. It has also become widespread in central Italy, especially as a pollinator. The plants are prized for their valuable ornamental qualities. Widespread throughout Italy, it is a moderately vigorous tree with a pendulous habit and high and consistent productivity. Self-incompatible; Maurino and Piangente are good pollinators. The fruit is ovoid, small in size, and black when harvested. It has a high oil yield of 23%, with oil of moderate quality.
