SHADDOCK (Yellow)

Unlike any other citrus fruit, the pomelo is not spherical or slightly flattened, but is often pear-shaped. The skin is smooth, greenish, sometimes pinkish, while the flesh ranges in color from straw yellow to pink to red. The flavor is pleasant, sweeter than that of the bitter orange and without any acidity. Each segment of the fruit is quite large, with small seeds and a thick, easy-to-remove peel. It is considered one of the three species from which all citrus fruits known today derive, along with the citron and the mandarin.
